Network conversations about the Cup

World Cup 2014

The H-World Editors think this is a great idea and, for the sake of time, have simply decided to X-Post the call for contributions as we have received it. H-World is always a little slow in the summer, but we have been especially slow since migrating to the Commons as we all get used to the new system. This is an good oppurtunity for subscribers to make a few posts and get a feel for H-World's new look while we discuss the connections between the 2014 World Cup and World History.

World Cup book reviews on H-NET

Here is a list of H-Net reviews of books that have some link to the World Cup. Some books are focused more directly on the World Cup and soccer/footbal, while some are on broader topics like aspects of international sport or gender and sports. (And one is actually about cricket.) But all should be good reading for this group! The list will automatically update should new relevant reviews appear on H-Net.

The World Cup and Popular Culture

The World Cup is upon us and so is an H-Net wide initative to address the beautiful game. H-PCAACA will be looking at the intersection of pop culture and the World Cup.

We are now open for contributions to our blog on the World Cup and images for our photo archive! That's not all! Submissions of essays and commentary pieces are also welcome! A bibliography and filmography are also in the works and any suggestions will be gladly accepted.
