Sob a égide da Nações Unidas, no final de 2015, representantes de 195 países discutiram, na Conferência do Clima em Paris (COP 21), o impacto das alterações climáticas sobre as sociedades, as pessoas e os seus bens. Chuvas torrenciais, tempestades inesperadas e violentas, derrocadas, ondas de calor e picos de poluição atingem, atualmente, uma frequência preocupante.
