Collection Description (from online finding aid): Vern Ross of Lower Hutt, became interested in professional wrestling as a school boy and began collecting material relating to the sport in 1936. His collection includes yearly scrapbooks (1871-1999), files on the careers of NZ wrestlers, programmes, results sheets, photographs, posters, and a large collection of books and magazines on the sport published particularly in New Zealand, the U.S.A., and Germany.

The GLOBALSPORT project (http://global-sport.eu/), run out of the University of Amsterdam by Dr. Niko Besnier and funded by the European Research Council, has important and interesting material on the impact of sport within the spheres of gender, sexuality, and ethnicity in sport.
Collection Description: The Virginia Interscholastic Association (VIA) existed from April 1954 through August 1969 and was an association of high schools attended by African Americans in Virginia. The VIA governed all non-academic activities of the black high schools in Virginia. During the years of operation, more than a hundred high schools with a student population of more than forty thousand had membership in the association.
