The Tennessee Historical Quarterly seeks submissions for a special issue focusing on the centennial of women’s acquisition of the right to vote. Papers must explore suffrage-related questions in the American South, although they need not be Tennessee-specific. Interested authors should submit a one page abstract and (no more than) two page CV to Carole Bucy at email@example.com; Frances Kolb at firstname.lastname@example.org; and Kristofer Ray at email@example.com. Deadline for abstract submission is July 1, 2018. Expected issue will be Spring
Cambridge, MA—April 17, 2018. The Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study has received a grant of $870,000 from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The grant will support fellowships and public programming centered on the 2020 centennial of the 19th Amendment at the Schlesinger Library and the broader Radcliffe Institute.
