Re: Aftercare for Interviewers When Hearing Difficult Stories

The UK Oral History Society has recently developed some advice for interviewers on 'Looking after yourself'. This is intended for a public rather than an academic audience, but the section on 'Care and support' may be of particular relevance - along with guidance to which interviewers can refer those engaging them to work on projects when negotiating terms and conditions. You can download it as a PDF at https://e554ji8k8hn.exactdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Looking-after....

Re: Aftercare for Interviewers When Hearing Difficult Stories

I wrote an article on this in 2021, and I hope it can be helpful to you: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/00940798.2021.1947144?journa...

There has also been helpful discussion of this in the Oral History Review Blog: https://oralhistoryreview.org/

Best of luck!
