Intensive Ethnography Workshop, July 22-27, UC Berkeley

The UC Berkeley Center for Ethnographic Research is offering an Intensive Ethnography Workshop this summer. The workshop provides mentorship, hands-on field experience, and advanced training in designing and executing a project using participant observation. Participants will be coached through all the components of a research project. The workshop includes individualized consultations with faculty and is designed for advanced graduate students, faculty, and professionals.

This workshop will provide both a conceptual background and practical experience in computer assisted qualitative data analysis (CAQDA) using ATLAS.ti. After instruction in the fundamental aspects of CAQDA, the course turns to the logic of the ATLAS.ti program, and how it functions as a tool for CAQDA.

By the end of the course, participants will have all the conceptual and practical tools necessary to employ ATLAS.ti in their current or future projects involving qualitative data.

Summer Student Workshop in Qualitative Methods – May 22-June 30, 2017, Berkeley

This Center for Ethnographic Research workshop at UC Berkeley provides mentorship, hands-on research experience, and training in designing and executing a project using qualitative methods for advanced undergraduates and beginning graduate students. Students will receive six weeks of intensive methodological training in the design and practice of qualitative research.
