Meyer, Sabine N. We Are What We Drink: The Temperance Battle in Minnesota. Urbana: University of Illinois Press, 2015. ISBN 978-0-252-03935-5
In We Are What We Drink, Sabine N. Meyer provides a close-grained story about the connections between alcohol consumption, temperance reform, and urban identity in 19th- and early 20th-century St. Paul and Minneapolis.
I would like to announce my new book We Are What We Drink: The Temperance Battle in Minnesota (Urbana: University of Illinois Press, 2015). The book features a discussion of the role of alcohol in the settlement of the Midwest. It also investigates how treaties with Native American tribes were used by the temperance reformers in the Progressive era to dry up Minnesota.
Hopefully, it will be of interest to you or your library.
