Belfast Summer School in Latin, Classical Greek, and Old English

The seventh Belfast Summer School in Latin and Classical Greek will take place in July 2022. It will be possible to attend this virtually on Zoom, or to attend in person at Queen’s University Belfast.

The virtual summer school will take place from Monday 4th – Friday 15th July. Classes will be available in Old English for beginners, Latin and Classical Greek at beginners, lower intermediate, upper intermediate, and advanced levels. The virtual summer school is a continuous two week course, however students may enrol for the first week only.

BELFAST SUMMER SCHOOL IN OLD ENGLISH AND CLASSICS

EVENT: The Art of the Yiddish Book (workshop in NYC, July 11-14)

This unique immersive workshop will take place at the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research and the Center for Book Arts in New York City, with scholar Barbara Mann and book artist Roni Gross.  Participants will explore the YIVO archives in the mornings, learning about Yiddish visual arts and material culture, and engage in hands-on work at the Center for Book Arts in the afternoons, creating a collaborative letterpress print inspired by objects and texts from the archives.
