Re: History of Education Podcasts?

Hi All,

An episode of "The British History Podcast" may be of some interest. The podcast is meant for a popular audience, and the host makes clear he is not a historian, but it is interesting and the topic relates to the history of education. The episode is "[King] Alfred’s Educational Reforms." The episode can be found here: https://goo.gl/GAvTiR As a warning, there are one or two bleeped-out curse words (or rather, I *assume* they are curse words, what with the bleeping and all).

Re: History of Education Podcasts?

Another standalone episode of possible interest is from the podcast 15-Minute-History, in which they discuss the 1966 UT Austin Tower Shooting: goo.gl/v8uN7y

Information about the podcast from their About page ( 15minutehistory.org ):
"15 Minute History is a podcast series is devoted to short, accessible discussions of important topics in World History and US History. The discussions will be conducted by the award winning faculty and graduate students at the University of Texas at Austin."

Re: History of Education Podcasts?

Hi Rick,

I've re-posed your query to H-Podcast and will be adding your list and any others that come up to a new History of Education category on the Academic Podcast Roundup. One that's up there already is Harvard EdCasts from Harvard's Graduate School of Education -- it's more about policy, but has some more history-oriented episodes. Looking forward to checking these out.
