I am a first year PhD student at the University of Georgia. It is with great sadness that I report to you the passing of Charles P. Roland, emeritus professor of History, on April 12, 2022, at the age of 104. An esteemed University of Kentucky faculty member for over 18 years, Dr. Roland was a distinguished scholar, beloved and talented teacher, and decorated World War II soldier.
