Re: Research Query: Jonas Kreppel

This is a bio-bibliographical response: Zalmen Reyzen, in vol. 3 of his Leksikon fun der yidisher literatur (1927; cols. 790-796; in Yiddish), has an extensive entry on Kreppel. A follow-up entry on Kreppel is included in the successor to Reyzen’s Leksikon, vol. 8 of the Leksikon fun der nayer yidisher literatur (1981; cols. 275-276). Both of these sources focus on Kreppel’s Yiddish works (the vast majority of Kreppel’s publications listed in WorldCat are in Yiddish).

Re: Research Query: Jonas Kreppel

I'm not researching Kreppel (just some of his contemporaries), but -- in case you're not aware of it -- there are a number of items by or about him in the Historical Jewish Press website, . Search it under his Hebrew name, יונה קרפל

I hope that's helpful -- best of success,

Research Query: Jonas Kreppel

I'd like to connect with people working on or studying the writings of Jonas Kreppel (1874-1940). I recently came upon his writings in the archives of the Arnold Schoenberg Center (Vienna). Schoenberg had a copy of Juden und Judentum von Heute (1925). I've come across other writings subsequently, and am keen to assess where this material fits in with the scholarship of Viennese-Jewry.
