Panel Proposal for Agricultural History Society Conference 2019

I am looking for anyone who might be interested in participating in a panel on relationships between farmers and agricultural scientists and agricultural colleges in the late nineteenth-century. My own paper focuses on educational outreach in Michigan from 1875-1900 and the building of a trusting relationship between the agricultural college and farmers. If you are interested or have suggestions please respond or email me at sw2310[at]

Thank you,

Scott Wooley

CFP: Panel on liberalism and the rural world at LASA 2019

We are two young historians working on rural Bolivia (19th-20th centuries) looking for contributions (English or Spanish) from different disciplines and on different countries/regions for a panel at LASA (May 24-27 2019, Boston) titled "Liberalism and moral economies: demystifying historical economic narratives about the rural world, 19th-20th centuries."

proposing a panel for 2019 Rural History

I am interested in putting together or joining a proposed panel for the 2019 Rural History conference at the EHESS. My paper will be about the calculation of crop yields from auctions of standing grain (called ventes de fruits pendant par racine in French) that were done as part of the probate process. The paper deals with the period 1700-1830, and deals with the province of Burgundy.
