I’m pleased to announce publication of The JET Program and the U.S.-Japan Relationship: Goodwill Goldmine by Emily T. Metzgar (Lexington Books, 2017 ~ details available here: http://bit.ly/2uSp6FR). Many of you were kind enough to respond to my earlier inquiries as I sought American JET alumni to interview for this research. Thank you to all who assisted with this undertaking. This volume would not have been possible without your cooperation.

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary with events marking the occasion planned for the fall. In anticipation, the June 2016 issue of CLAIR’s Forum Magazine focused on the program, its history and its future.
Greetings from Bloomington, Indiana. I'm working on a book about the Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Program and its utility as a soft power promotion tool for Japan. I've written a bit about my research here.
