Run by scholars to make research available around the world, Open Book PUblishers is a non-profit funded by the Polonsky Foundation, the Thriplow Charitable Trust, the Jessica E. Smith and Kevin R. Brine Charitable Trust, and The Progress Foundation. Authors do not pay processing charges and all OBP books can be read and downloaded for free. They publish monographs and textbooks in a wide range of subjects in addition to series for universities and research centers.
OBP is eligible to receive European Commission's publication grants for research.
Knowledge Unlatched has released "short but informative videos" that "feature a publisher describing the partnership it has developed with KU in order to unlatch quality scholarly books in various disciplines over the next few years."
