Call for Papers: Naval Integration and the Future of Naval Warfare
The Fall 2020 MCU Journal, published by Marine Corps University Press, will address elements of the Commandant's Planning Guidance, particularly the concept of naval integration and what it means for the Services, especially the Marine Corps. Further, authors may discuss how future warfare will play out based on these concepts.
All, As I read a review essay in the Journal of Military History by Howard Fuller on a new book about John Ericsson and the Monitor something popped out at me that should have popped out earlier, and which highlights a key lacunae in the thinking of "military historians" on this issue of decisive battle (which, I agree with some of you, is the real target for Nolan's thesis).
Could probably find the answer to this question myself by reading the volume reviewed but thought would ask the question anyway as reply.
The International Conference "Italy and the Suez Canal, a Global History from the mid-19th Century to the Present" will be held in Turin at the University of Turin (Campus Luigi Einaudi, Sala lauree rossa, Lungo Dora Siena 100/A) and the Accademia delle Scienze (Sala dei Mappamondi, via Accademia delle Scienze 6) on May 23 and 24 2019.
