CFP North American Society for Sport History (NASSH) 2022 Pre-Conference Workshop

Expressions of Interest are sought for proposals from those interested in hosting the annual North American Society for Sport History (NASSH) Pre-Conference workshop for 2022 in Chicago. The project is designed to workshop and develop papers for a themed special issue of the Journal of Sport History with publication expected in 2023.

The workshop is intended to bring together new and established scholars to develop a publication that:

NASSH Dissertation Prize

The North American Society for Sport History (NASSH) invites submissions for its first NASSH Dissertation Prize to be submitted until December 31, 2020. The newly inaugurated Dissertation Prize will be awarded on a biannual basis and recognize outstanding doctoral dissertations in the field of sport history. The winner of the prize will receive $1000.

North American Society for Sport History Dissertation Travel Awards Competition -- Deadline February 1. 2019

Doctoral students working on dissertations related to the history of sport and/or history of physical culture may apply for research travel assistance from the North American Society for Sport History (NASSH).  Each year NASSH distributes a total of $3,000 for doctoral research which is often divided into two or three awards at the discretion of the committee.  Candidates must be ABD and they may only receive a dissertation travel grant once.
