Call for Applications: MA in Modern China Studies, University of Freiburg (Germany)
The Asian Studies section of the WSSA welcomes abstracts and panel proposals for the upcoming 65th annual World Social Science Association conference.
The conference will be held in the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel from April 12th through April 15th. Proposals will be accepted through Jan. 15th.
The Asia Studies section welcomes proposals and panels on any topic pertaining to Asia. Past panels have covered topics as wide-ranging as worker's rights in the United Arab Emirates to Japanese popular culture. Graduate students and early career scholars are particularly welcome.
The University of San Francisco Center for Asia Pacific Studies welcomes Professor Eva Kit Wah Man for a lecture on art and morality from Mao Zedong’s 1942 Yenan Talks to Xi Jinping’s 2014 speech on artistic practice in China.
This is a reminder that the deadline to submit a proposal for the 2023 Berkeley-Stanford Graduate Student Conference in Modern Chinese Humanities is November 21, 2022, 11:59 pm (Pacific Time).
Date of acceptance notification: Early January, 2023
Final paper submission deadline: March 31, 2023
Conference date: April 21-22, 2023

I have just uploaded the full dataset of shape files on transportation in Shanghai before 1949. This includes tramway (1903, 1908, 1936, 1947), autobus (1936, 1947), and trolleybus (1936, 1947), with their respective stations. The dataset includes both individual shape files for each line in each type of network and for the stations.
