It is with great pleasure that we announce the launch of Khamseen: Islamic Art History Online’s new Glossary, accessible here. This multimedia lexicon features fully captioned short-form videos—each lasting five to seven minutes—on terms relating to Islamic art, architecture and visual culture.

      I am posting this because I have seen some people asking for last minute panel participants or needed scholars for filling out panels.

      My name is James Bowden, M.A. and I am a research historian whose focus in on the Middle East. I am also an in-between posts World History teacher that arrived back in the US from teaching in Mongolia for the last two-years at The Shildeg School in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Call for Submissions: The Best Article Award in Kurdish Studies

This award, sponsored by Kurdish Political Studies Program at the University of Central Florida, recognizes the best article in Kurdish Studies by a rising scholar during the previous calendar year. For this award cycle, articles published in 2020 will be considered. All articles published in English language peer-reviewed journals addressing questions and covering issues related to Kurdish politics, broadly defined, will be considered for the award.
