Mary Cramer

Mary Reddig Cramer (1847-1915) of Lexington was a Vice President of the Kentucky Equal Rights Association from 1892 to 1913. She was also a member of the Woman's Club of Central Kentucky and the Kentucky chapter of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. She attended many of the conventions of the National American Woman Suffrage Association between 1893 and 1912. This image was supplied to H-Kentucky for the Kentucky Woman Suffrage Project by Walt Cramer, her great-grandson.

Twenty-Third Annual KERA Convention

The twenty-third annual convention of the Kentucky Equal Rights Association is held in the Arts Club Building in Lexington. Officers include: Madeline McDowell Breckinridge (President), Mrs. E.L. Hutchinson (First Vice-President), Mary C. Cramer (Second Vice-President), Nancy Sanford McLaughlin (Third Vice-President), Laura Clay (Corresponding Secretary), Emma M. Roebuck (Recording Secretary), Mrs. Warfield C. Bennett (Treasurer), and Belle Harris Bennett (Member of NAWSA Executive Committee).

Twenty-Second Annual KERA Convention

The twenty-second annual convention of the Kentucky Equal Rights Association is held at the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville. Officers for this year include: Laura Clay (President), Mrs. John Castleman (First Vice-President), Mary C. Cramer (Second Vice-President), Nancy Sanford McLaughlin (Third Vice-President), Mary C. Roark (Corresponding Secretary), Emma M. Roebuck (Recording Secretary), Isabella H. Shepard (Treasurer), Lucy A. Nield (Auditor), and Mary E. Giltner (Member of NAWSA Executive Committee).

Twenty-First Annual KERA Convention

The twenty-first annual convention of the Kentucky Equal Rights Association is held in Covington. Officers elected at this convention are: Laura Clay (President), Mary Barr Clay (First Vice-President), Mary C. Cramer (Second Vice-President), Nancy Sanford McLaughlin (Third Vice-President), Mary C. Roark (Corresponding Secretary), Emma M. Roebuck (Recording Secretary), and Isabella H. Shepard (Treasurer). For the coming year, the organization plans to sponsor suffrage essays contests, push for an amendment to the state constitution allowing full suffrage, and establish a Lecture Bureau.
