The recent New York Times article on the role of two respected US scholars in the looting of Cambodian antiquities is interesting. It reminds me that Cambodia suffered from a far more illustrious looter – André Malraux. The New York Times on March 30 carried an excellent piece of investigative journalism that deserves attention -- it is another revelation of scholars legitimizing the ownership, by museums and others, of stolen and smuggled fragments of cultural heritage, in this case from Cambodia:
