New Issue of The PRC History Review, Vol. 2, No. 4 (October 2017)

We are very pleased to announce that the latest issue of The PRC History Review is now available. Tani Barlow’s essay “Jiang Qing, Seriously” is the inaugural issue of a new series, “Provocations,” which offers a glimpse at in-progress research that pushes us to reconsider assumptions and established views in the field.
We hope H-PRC subscribers will contribute to this new series: we invite submissions of think-pieces, teasers for upcoming publications, and insights from ongoing research.

Qi Benyu remembers Jiang Qing

Just in case you missed it, the only surviving member of the Central Cultural Revolution Group, Qi Benyu (戚本禹) has just published a personal, at times moving and consistently informative memoir on the National Rejuvenation website (复兴网) in Beijing entitled 《回忆江青同志》. Here is the link: http://www.mzfxw.com/e/action/ShowInfo.php?classid=18&id=44595 It is in three parts and some 45,000 Chinese characters long: below are a couple of highlights from parts one and two.
