Re: Query: Seeking short intro reading on Eastern Europe Jews

For the question of Shira Klein: Although the book of Heiko Haumann, A History of East European Jews (CEU Press, Central European University Press, Budapest and New York 2002) is not giving to the readers such a short account which you are looking for – yet, I believe that it is still worth taking from it the exact pages which deals with the topics you have mentioned here.

Query: Seeking short intro reading on Eastern Europe Jews

Can anyone recommend an introductory reading suitable for undergraduates, on Jews in late 19th-early 20th century Eastern Europe? Preferably one that covers the big issues - Haskalah, Zionism, Bundism, pogroms, emigration. 20-30 pages max. I've been using the first chapter of Sorin's A Time for Building but would like to update. Thank you!
