H-Nationalism is proud to publish here the seventh post of its “Minorities in Contemporary and Historical Perspectives” series, which looks at majority-minority relations from a multi-disciplinary and diachronic angle. Today’s contribution, by Brian Girvin (University of Glasgow), takes a look at a hundred years of majority-minority relations in Northern Ireland.
Hello H-Sex! I know many of you are probably dealing with your University shifting to remote education, but I'm hoping this makes it through and catches a few of yalls interest. I'm looking to put together a panel on modern Irish sexualities for the 2020 North American Conference on British Studies in Chicago, IL. I'll be presenting about policing same-sex desire in Dublin and Belfast in the early 20th century, and one confirmed panelist, Bridget Keown, will be discussing her current research on the AIDS/HIV outbreak in Ireland.
All panelists have been selected! Thank you!
