Call for Expressions of Interest in Hosting ICHG 2025
This is a call for members of the international research community interested in hosting the 18th International Conference of Historical Geographers in July 2025.
The ICHG conference series, which began in 1975, has been an increasingly important means of supporting the historical geography community. In recent decades, an ICHG meeting has been held every three years. However, as with many other conferences, the series was interrupted by the Covid Pandemic.

I am working with an environmental historian to advance discussions about coasts. He organized a very successful session at the ESEH last month and I would like to organize a similar session at the ICHG next summer. The session in Zagreb was conceptual and addressed questions about what is distincitive about the environmental history of coasts and how can research on this environmental setting proceed in a unified manner. For the ICHG in Warsaw, I am seeking an additional presenter for a session that will present empirical papers about human interactions with the coasts.
