ANNOUNCEMENT> Thanks and Farewell from the "Holmes Welch and the Study of Buddhism in Twentieth Century China Seminar"

Dear friends and colleagues,
 
The Holmes Welch and the Study of Buddhism in Twentieth Century China Seminar was an event held at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion between 2013 and 2018. Holmes H. Welch (1924-1981) was a scholar of Chinese religions and wrote a trilogy of monographs on Buddhism in modern China that helped to establish the field.

The co-chairs of the Holmes Welch and the Study of Buddhism in Twentieth-Century China Seminar of the American Academy of Religion would like to invite paper proposals for its next meeting in San Antonio in November, 2016.

The Holmes Welch and the Study of Buddhism in Twentieth-Century China Seminar invites proposals for papers to be presented at the 2015 meeting of the American Academy of Religion in Atlanta. We invite papers on any aspect of Welch's life or work, including his studies of Buddhism, or other fields.
