Invitation to follow the online conference on histories of disability and emotions

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the Online conference on histories of disability and emotions, co-organized by Sara Scalenghe, Pieter Verstraete, and me, that will be held freely and online on 13-15 June 2023 with 35 international speakers.

‘Gender and Joy in History’ is a symposium aimed at counterposing the common scholarly focus on catastrophe and crisis of recent years. Lilith: A Feminist History Journal now calls for scholars in all areas of gender and feminist history to consider questions about how women, feminists and gender diverse people have found joy, strength, resilience, inspiration, love, happiness and transcendence in the past.

As word came to me not long ago that the SCWH conference will be in Raleigh, NC, next June, I wanted to take the opportunity to create a panel for the conference. Therefore, I wanted to reach out and see any who would be interested in presenting on this panel and any suggestions you might have for the panel chair.
