Call for Panelists for SHCY 2017 – Transformations of the Child’s Body

I’m seeking papers to form a panel to be proposed for SHCY17 on transformations of the child’s body. My work will address the child’s body at school in early nineteenth-century New England, both as conceived by educators and as experienced by children. I can envision other papers dealing with transformations of the child’s body in schooling or in medicine, childrearing, sport, slavery, or other work, either discursively or in practice, across a span of time and space.
