I'm a fan of Richard Elliot Friedman's "Return to Torah," a weekly series of 50 lectures he gave during 2020, hosted by Jewish Live. The lectures – Dr. Friedman standing at a lectern – are thematic, not chronological. While Dr. Friedman is a serious Bible scholar, translator and commentator, the lectures are informal and sometimes irreverent and funny.

It’s not a single episode, but Christine Hayes 24-episode series on the topic (recorded classes from Yale) is available on YouTube:

I would recommend the introduction to the Hebrew Bible by Christine Hayes (Yale). It is on youtube

Dear Colleagues:
My students would like a podcast that gives an overview of the Bible (HB only or HB with Christian Scriptures). Most of what I have found is too devotional and/or too denominational. A suggestion for a more academic approach would be appreciated.
Thanks, Alan Levenson
