Following the approval of the DFG-Cluster of Excellence “Understanding Written Artefacts” Universität Hamburg invites applications for 55 new positions for research associates. The initial fixed term is three years.

Artificial Intelligence Is Cracking Open the Vatican's Secret Archives

A new project, In Codice Ratio, "uses a combination of artificial intelligence and optical-character-recognition (OCR) software to scour"  texts from the Vatican Secret Archive and "make their transcripts available for the very first time."
