Re: inquiry re: Samuel Pepys' private papers

The Pepys Library catalogue suggests that the Pepys-Cockerell collection was dispersed in 1931 (or at least parts sold). While items were acquired by public institutions (e.g. National Maritime Museum), Guy de la Bédoyère's editorial comment on the Pepys correspondence (2006) suggests that private collectors acquired many lots. Perhaps the next step is to consult Sotheby's catalogues? The British Library's collection of the same sometimes captures annotated copies.
