Hello,
I am looking to form a panel for OAH 2020 that will explore the international ties between American abolitionists and revolutionaries abroad. My proposed paper examines how and why (former) abolitionists were sympathetic to Russian revolutionaries in the 1880s and 1890s, and particularly explores similarities between the terrorism of John Brown and that of the People's Will in Russia.
If you are interested in being a panelists (or charing or commenting) please contact me at cgibson2@binghamton.edu.
