I’m writing to announce “Richard Pryor’s Peoria”, a digital humanities project that reconstructs the comedian’s formative years through a curated collection of over 200 documents related to his life, his family, and the changing history of Peoria, Illinois, in whose red-light district Pryor was raised.

The following position is available at the Center for Near and Middle Eastern Studies (CNMS), Philipps-University Marburg,  within the framework of the newly established research project DYNTRAN („Dynamics of Transmission: Families, Authority and Knowledge in the Early Modern Middle East (15th-17th centuries“) externally funded by the German Science Foundation
(DFG) and the French National Agency (ANR)  starting as soon as possible for a 3 year term:
