CFP: Disney Studies at NEPCA (extended deadline to June 15th)

The 2020 Northeast Popular Culture Association (NEPCA) will host its annual conference this fall on Friday, October 23-Saturday, October 24 at the Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire.  We are looking forward to another engaging and rewarding conference for new and seasoned members alike.  We are seeking proposals for panels and presentations for this year’s conference.

CFP (Book chapter abstracts): Social Order and Authority in Disney/Pixar Films

Much has been written about Disney’s stereotypical representations of gender, race, sexuality, and ethnicity.  Here, we are interested in exploring how Disney portrays authority and social order in its animated feature length theatrical films.

Underlying questions of the project include but are not limited to:

France culture (French Radio Channel) looking for historians of Walt Disney

The French radio channel France Culture is planning a 4-part show on the life of Walt Disney as part of its series of radio-biographies called "Grande Traversée" (see an example here). The team is looking to interview (in English) historians and film historians who have worked on the man and his films and other realizations (including, but not restricted to, Disneyland).
