2017 JDC Archives Fellowship Program

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) Archives is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its 2017 fellowship program. In 2017, 5-6 fellowships will be awarded to senior scholars, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and independent researchers to conduct research in the JDC Archives, either in New York or in Jerusalem.

Seeking panelists - SHCY 2015 - Child welfare projects in Asia

I am seeking one or two panelists for the Society of the History of Children and Youth’s biennial meeting in Vancouver next June (details at http://shcyhome.org/conference/). The proposed panel will consider child welfare projects in Asia during the 19th and 20th centuries, paying particular attention to the relationship between Western aid workers, local caregivers, and the children under their care.

Instead, scholars now highlight the multi-directional movement of ideas and practices between Europe and other parts of the world, as well as the mutually-constitutive character of imperialism, post-colonial ideologies and development projects.
