Call for Panelists: Theorizing Urban Space, Lagos Studies Association Conference (Lagos, Nigeria, June 27-29, 2019)

What passes for theory in African Urban Studies is dominated predominantly by cases and examples from Western cities and critics.  Thus we find that thinkers like Walter Benjamin, Henri Lefebvre, Edward Soja, and Michel Foucault are the main theorists that are drawn upon whereas African cities tend to elude much of this theory.
