REVIEW: New Works on Rural Mexico after the Revolution

Our latest collection of reviews centers of rural Mexico in the decades following the Revolution. The four works reviewed here advance questions of the rise and slow decline of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (the PRI) through the lenses of technology, expertise, and labor in the countryside. Looking to rural producers and workers and their incorporation into the consolidating state, these authors illustrate the delicate balance between cooperation, cooptation, and resistance that governed life in agricultural regions of Mexico.
