The conference ‘Mediating the spatiality of conflicts’ addresses the interrelations of spatiality and conflict. During the conference, generative potentials of conflict and violence on space and everyday life are investigated. Different mediatic tools, methods and ‘artivist' approaches towards conflict and post conflict environs are showcased.

2019 Jane Jacobs Urban Communication Book Award
Corvinus University (formerly Karl Marx University of Economics) welcome students (undergraduate and MA) to its Summer School in Budapest. The School offers four courses: Enterpreneurship, Making Investment Decisions, East Asia developmental Strategies in Comparison to East-Central European command economic systems and their strategies (before 1989), and City Development int he 21st Century.
The participation fees are follow: 1 course costs 600 Euros (early bird 550 Euros), two courses cost 1100 Euros (early bird 1000 Euros). Each course offers earning 6 credits.

Complexity and the City – Life, Design and Commerce in the Built Environment
The Bartlett Development Planning Unit will provide a limited number of conference grants for graduate students from low or middle income countries in order to assist them to participate in the Silk Cities International Conference 2019. The Grant will contribute to the conference registration fees, costs of flights to/from Italy and/or accommodation in L’Aquila.
Following the announcement of Student Grants to assist graduate students from low or middle income countries in participating in the Silk Cities International Conference 2019, the organising committee have decided to extend the deadline for submitting papers until 15 April 2019.
The conference is a collaboration between the University of L’Aquila, Silk Cities and University College London.
