Publications are being accepted for nomination for the 2018 Hooks National Book Award, sponsored by the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change, at the University of Memphis. The annual book award recognizes a non-fiction book that best furthers understanding of the American Civil Rights Movement and its legacy. Books focusing on current civil rights and social justice issues are eligible. To be considered for the 2018 award, books must have a first-published date in 2018.
