A beautiful young woman drapes her long auburn hair over a human skull, pressing it close to her face like a lover. Another, clad in black and holding a wooden staff, poses like a model in a photo shoot on location in an incongruous forest. Long, elaborately decorated fake fingernails like talons grasp shiny crystals, evoking the “just so” beauty of a staged magazine spread.

Intersections: Between Music and Theatre in Seicento Italy
This two-day conference, exploring the connections between theatre and music in seventeenth-century Italy, will be held on Thursday 20th September and Friday 21st September 2018 in the Media Centre of the Raised Faculty Building on the Sidgwick Site of the University of Cambridge.
We are excited to welcome Prof. Richard Andrews (University of Leeds), Prof. Antonio Rostagno (Università degli Studi di Roma ‘La Sapienza’), and Dr Lisa Sampson (University College London) as our keynote speakers.
This is a conference produced by Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York. More focused on performers and industry leaders, there does seem to be some space for a panel or two, with any proposal. I plan on putting forth a panel focused on Jazz, Literature, and Archival matters. Any and all panelists are welcome to contact me and put forth what they think would work better, in terms of a panel. This is a fantastic opportunity, and I thank you for taking the time to read about this.
The AAIHS invites scholars across career stages and affiliations (from graduate students to senior faculty and independent scholars) to submit proposals for scholarly papers (20-minute presentations), organized panels of three or four papers, poster sessions, lecture-demonstrations, film screenings, or workshops. They accept individual submissions, but preference is given to full panels.
