A Call for Papers has been issued for the upcoming 3rd Levantine Heritage Foundation international conference, titled: ‘The Levantines: Identities and Heritage’. The conference dates are 2-4 November 2018 and it is going to take place in Athens, Greece.

"(Um)weltschmertz: An Exercise in Humility and Melancholia" is the final project event of the ENHANCE international training network. The event explores the deep ties that connect humans and their cultural and emotional lives to the changing environment around issues of environmental change and conflict, as well as the role of the environmental humanities in times of crisis.
There will be several public events as part of the program, including public lectures, a film screening, and an exhibition.
The Mountain Ecosystems Specialists Group of the IUCN Commission on Ecosystems Management
(CEM) invites submissions of case studies on gender specific knowledge for ecosystem management
in mountain regions. While critical feminist literature has deepened our understanding of gender in
significant ways, the policy sphere is slow on the uptake of these contributions. To rectify this lack, we
are seeking to collate nuanced and innovative approaches to gender concerning mountain
