The opening conference of the REACH project will be organized by ELTE University, Eötvös Loránd Tudomanyegyetem, on the 10th and 11th of May 2018 in Budapest, kindly hosted by the Hungarian National Museum.
ABC-CLIO is seeking a scholar to edit a book on the city in world history. Global in scope and written for high school students and undergraduates, this work will cover cities and urbanization from the ancient world to the present. It will contain sections on 30 to 35 civilizations across world history. Each section will include an overview essay followed by roughly 30 alphabetically arranged encyclopedia entries on topics related to cities and urbanization within the civilization.

We have no choice over the family we are born into, and many of us go on to create and shape a family of our own which may mimic our family of origin or differ from it in startling and substantive ways. Because of the ubiquity of the family in all societies, the lack of one is considered so significant that attempts are made in many societies through law, culture and social policy to provide some form of substitute.

The Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University would like to invite you to the academic programme Summer University Prague 2018: “Project Europe at a Crossroads: Building up open structures or breaking down into local identities?”, taking place in Prague (Czech Republic) during September 2018 (September 8 – 22).
This study programme is intended for students who are currently enrolled in a college or university or have recently graduated. The course is internationally acknowledged, successful participants will be given 4 or 8 ECTS credits, depending on their efforts.
