Call for Chapter Proposals
Kids, Inc. to Andi Mack: The Disney Channel’s Tween Programming is a proposed interdisciplinary, multi-contributer volume examining the nature, history, and legacy of The Disney Channel’s programming for tweens from 1984 to present.
EXTENDED DEADLINE: The digital humanities offer scholars the opportunity to engage in the concept of play in their work, through user-friendly, yet intellectually rigorous, presentations of archives and academic research. We are seeking participants for a proposed session at the upcoming National Communication Association convention, being held in Salt Lake City November 8-11, 2018. Papers should interrogate the role of digital humanities in the 21st century. The conference theme is “Communication at Play.”
Potential topics could include but are not limited to:
ISHS invites humour researchers and practitioners to Tallinn, Estonia, to discuss humour from its basic definitions to innovative research and everything in between. Bringing together a variety of scholars, students and creative practitioners, we welcome proposals of papers, posters, special panel contributions, workshops and other academic formats related to humour research or the applications of humour research in the arts, humanities, and sciences.

Alphaville: Journal of Film and Screen Media seeks reports for its two 2018 issues. Potential contributors are invited to contact the Reports Editor to agree the submission of a conference, film festival or exhibition report. Submissions in MLA and Alphaville style, along with a short biographical note and contact information, will be due by 30 April 2018 and 30 October 2018 respectively. Reports and interviews should be 1,500-2,500 words in length and should be original, unpublished in print or electronically, and not under consideration elsewhere.
