The Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change is soliciting nominations for its 2018 Hooks National Book Award. The Hooks National Book Award is presented, annually, for a non-fiction book that best furthers understanding of the American civil rights movement and its legacy. Non-fiction books focusing on current civil rights and social justice issues are eligible. Nominated books must have a first-published date in 2018. A panel of judges, representing various higher education disciplines, reviews award nominations and selects the winning publication.
