A description of the funeral services for Mrs. Coonley Ward in Chicago on February 28, 1924. The booklet includes a photograph of Mrs. Ward (circa 1914) and a speech by the great reformer and peace activist Jane Addams. Miss Addams describes in her eulogy her trip to Kentucky where she met Mrs. Ward's mother, the Kentucky suffragist and philanthropist Susan Look Avery. She also describes when Mrs. Ward hosted a reception for Susan B. Anthony in Chicago. Two of Mrs. Ward's poems, "Aspiration" and "Cremation," from her book The Melody of Life (New York: James T. White & Co., 1921) are reprinted here.
