Normally I would not tout a book review in this forum, but I want to make sure that readers of this list are introduced to Zhang Jishun's 张济顺 terrific new book Yuanqu de dushi: 1950 niandai de Shanghai 远去的都市:1950 年代的上 海 [A City Displaced: Shanghai in the 1950s].
