Call for Special Issues and Thematic Sections: Mexican Studies/Estudios Mexicanos
Mexican Studies/Estudios Mexicanos (UC Press) is a bilingual, international scholarly journal dedicated to providing a unique and essential forum for the dissemination of cutting-edge research relating to Mexico, broadly defined. Analyzing cultural, historical, political, social, economic, artistic, and scientific factors, and engaging a range of disciplinary frameworks, fields and approaches, articles contribute to understanding and knowledge of contemporary and historical issues.
Commencing in 2016 the journal will publish three issues a year, including Special Issues and Thematic Sections, which will provide a focused set of articles examining a critical and timely topic. A Special Issue is a complete issue focused on a topic, comprising a comprehensive Introduction by the Guest Editors, followed by 6 to 8 articles, encompassing inter- and/or multidisciplinary approaches. A Thematic Section is a series of 2 to 5 focused articles within a normal issue of the journal. You are invited to submit proposals for a Special Issue or Thematic Section, and to contribute to ongoing dialogues and debates.
