To mark the centennial of the Treaty of Riga (1921), the Institute of History and Archival Studies at the Pedagogical University of Kraków invites interested scholars to attend an international conference that will examine the aforementioned agreement between Poland and Soviet Russia (and Soviet Ukraine). In addition, the meeting will also tackle other “post-Versailles” treaties as determining factors and reflections of the interwar world-order and its different aspects, especially in Central and Eastern Europe.
You will find the application and more details about the conference’s thematic focus on our website. Please note that we also welcome papers that expand beyond this scope.
The conference will take on September 22-24, 2021 at the Pedagogical University of Kraków. Due to the probability of the epidemiological danger related to COVID-19 receding in September 2021, we are planning to organize the event in the traditional form. In case the pandemic does not subside, however, we will adjust accordingly by switching to the hybrid form.
We will provide full financial reimbursement of travel and board to all successful applicants presenting papers in person (in Kraków).
We kindly ask all interested scholars to submit their application by November 15, 2020, if possible. Given that our logistical preparations are complicated in the midst of a pandemic, your declaration as to whether you would like to participate is most valuable to us so that we can count the number of our guests. You can send us other information, such as the title and abstract of your talk, at a later date.
We thank you for your understanding and hope to welcome you in Kraków next year.
