Research Fellowships at Quaker & Special Collections, Haverford College

Sarah Horowitz Discussion

Quaker & Special Collections at Haverford College invites applications for two research fellowships:

The Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation Research Fellowship offers $5,000 to researchers engaging in the study of the history of mental health and health care, the role of Quakerism in mental health care, and mental health care reform.

The Gest Fellowship offers $2,000 for researchers engaging with religion, religious community, or historical religious practices; while many scholars may wish to consult our Quaker collections, the Fellowship is not limited to Quaker projects. We hope that materials created through these fellowships advance scholarship and engage with our collections in unique and creative ways.

The deadline to apply for both fellowships is March 15. Further information on the application process and materials, as well as when and how research funding can be used, is available at https://www.haverford.edu/library/quaker-special-collections/fellowships.
