Dr. Jeffers wrote this book review, "Masters of Empire: Great Lakes Indians and the Making of America", with the pen of an artist. There is a creativity in the way he describes the 'pays d'en haut' and the history of the Ohio and Great Lakes regions.

As an Easterner in the U.S., I learned a tremendous amount about the Midwest from reading this book review and with the knowledge that I have a lot more studying to do about Native-American history and these geographical areas.

Thankfully, though, George Washington did not "stumble" into the American Revolutionary War. Otherwise there might not be a United States.

Bravo for this book review by Dr. Jeffers! I'd like to see more of them written by him on the subject of Native-American history. Or, perhaps we will see a book written by Dr. Jeffers on the subject in the not too distant future!
