SHEAR 2023 Panel: History of Political "Compromise"

Nathaniel Green's picture

I am interested in putting together a panel on the history of political "compromise." Anyone working on a topic related to political compromise is welcome to reach out at and tell me about your project. Women, scholars of color, early career scholars, non-TT faculty, and faculty from community colleges are especially encouraged to reach out.

For context, I am currently working on a book-length project on the history of the three-fifths clause, which will of course discuss the "three-fifths compromise" at the Constitutional Convention. I welcome scholars working on the three-fifths clause, or on other political "compromises" at the Constitutional Convention. But your work does not have to focus on national politics. If you have something to say about the history of political compromise, please reach out!
